This page explains how the website link-insights.com handles personal data. The app has its own privacy policy, linked at the end.

Who is responsible

In short

This website sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts and no third-party fonts, and has no advertising. It works without JavaScript. The only things that store data are the server logs and, if you use them, the newsletter and the suggestion form.

Server logs

When you open a page, our web server receives your request and your IP address. We use this to deliver the site and to keep it secure. Access logs shorten IP addresses (the last part is removed), contain no cookies, and are deleted after 14 days. The website runs on a virtual server in France (Hostinger).

Newsletter "New questions"

If you sign up, we store your email address, the page language, the time of your consent and a salted hash of your IP address as evidence of consent. We send your email address to Loops (Astrodon Corporation, United States), where we manage newsletter contacts. This form only creates a contact; it does not itself send a confirmation or newsletter email. Further processing may depend on the Loops account settings. See the Loops Privacy Policy for details. We keep your data until you withdraw consent; contact us to do so. Legal basis: your consent.

Suggestion form "Which question is missing?"

If you send a suggestion, we store the text, an optional example link, an optional email address, whether you also want the newsletter, the language of the page and a salted hash of your IP address. The suggestion is saved in a database on our server and sent to us by email. We use the hash only to limit spam, and we read your email address only to answer you. We keep suggestions as long as they help us plan new questions, and delete them on request. Legal basis: your consent.

Spam protection

The forms use a hidden field, a minimum filling time and a limit on submissions per hash of the IP address. There is no captcha and no third-party service.

Analytics

At the moment this website uses no analytics. If we add some, it will be self-hosted and cookieless, and this page will say so before it goes live.

Links to the App Store lead to Apple, where Apple's privacy policy applies. The link to the developer's app page leads to aiia.li.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@link-insights.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority of your country; in Switzerland that is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
